I purchased three items recently through the website. Mtl Armory promises they will do everything they can to make sure the customer has a great experience. I am happy to report they mean it. Two items were exactly as I expected, and the third exceeded my expectations. Based on my experience, I recommend the website for army surplus purchases.

I bought a gas mask from Bill and it arrived in perfect condition and it was shipped in a very quick manner so I would definitely buy from Bill again especially considering the wide selection of military surplus items he has.

The products themselves were exactly as described, and prices were fair. If I was reviewing only what I received, then it would be 5 stars. Unfortunately the customer service isn’t of the same standard. I placed my order on Nov 7th, and the day before it arrived, on the 18th, he sent me an email explaining that three items would be missing, and a second package would be coming (listing 3 items that it would contain). I was somewhat disappointed with the wait time; but was understanding of the difficulty of compiling all the items, and was therefore patient, and willing to work with him. On the 25th, he sent me me a tracking number for the second package which didn’t work for reasons unknown. Finally, on the Dec 1st, the second package did arrive; but it only contained 1 of the 3 aforementioned products. I sent him an email immediately, asking if he would send a third package with the remaining 2 items. I got no response. Today I sent him an email explaining my grievances and offered him the opportunity to rectify the issue so that I could give him 5 stars. His response was defensive, unapologetic and somewhat condescending. He finally issued a refund for the 2 missing items. It seems that the intention was that I wouldn’t notice they were missing and just to keep the money. If he was honest and explained that he couldn’t get the two items, and I would be refunded, I wouldn’t have an issue. Even an apology for the mistake would’ve gone a long way, but I received neither.

ordered here a few times in the last year, good quality surplus stuff always arrives quick. has all the spare parts to keep my 82 pattern ruck in shape.
